Bordeaux have experienced mixed fortunes in France’s Ligue One in recent seasons. This season Les Girondins have also enjoyed an inconsistent start to their campaign. However, a trip to Nice on Friday night provides Paulo Sousa’s side with the chance to move into Ligue One’s top-three.
The home side has experienced a poor start to their league campaign and are 13th place in the Ligue One table, having collected just 16 points from their first 12 matches in the French top-flight.
They have also suffered four defeats in their last six outings in Ligue One. However, there was a minor sign of potential improvement last time out, as they recorded a 2-0 home win over Reims. The win ended a five-game winless streak.
Even Nice home has offered little respite from their inconsistencies, as a record of two wins, two defeats and a draw illustrates. Nice have proven pretty consistent in front of goal on home soil in Ligue One at least, scoring in 16 of their last 17 home matches. Unfortunately, they have also conceded in five of their last six home league games too.
Bordeaux’s recent form has been highly inconsistent, as they have won three and lost three of their last six matches in Ligue One.
The visitors recorded a 2-0 home win over Nantes in their last league game. The win saw Paulo Sousa’s team score at least twice for the fifth time in eight league matches.
Like their general record in Ligue One of late, their away record in the French top-flight is mixed, although they have won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five games on their travels.
The visitors have a terrible recent record against Nice, losing four of the last six meetings with the home side.
Forebet predicts that Bordeaux will improve upon that poor recent record against Nice by recording a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
