Nottingham Forest to avoid defeat at Luton Town

Luton Town dropped down to 19th place in the Championship following last weekend’s 2-1 defeat away at Birmingham City which became The Hatters’ third defeat in four matches in the second tier.

14 games into this new Championship season and it looks like being a long and tough campaign for Luton in their quest to consolidate their Championship status under manager, Graeme Jones, and although they’ve more or less held their own on home turf at Kenilworth Road, results away from home have been generally below average.

Luton will therefore be looking forward to returning to Kenilworth Road for this clash against Nottingham Forest, especially as Luton have lost their last 2 matches on the trot away from home.

An earlier 3-2 loss at London rivals, Fulham became Luton’s second loss on the trot away from home which was followed by a third at Birmingham, but the hosts did record a resounding, if not slightly surprising, 3-0 win over Bristol City last time out on home soil.

Nottingham Forest have had an extra week to prepare for this trip to Luton Town as last weekend’s fixture with Reading at the City Ground was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, but the visitors will be keen to set the record straight at Luton this Saturday.

Nottingham Forest have suffered back-to-back defeats to Wigan Athletic and Hull City in recent weeks, and the Tricky Trees have now dropped down to 10th place on the Championship ladder after being as high as 2nd place in the Championship not so long ago.

Forest started their campaign with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to West Brom but a subsequent impressive run of 10 matches without defeat under new manager, Sabri Lamouchi, had Forest fans dreaming of a long-awaited return to the Premier League.

However, fortunes in football can change very quickly and Nottingham Forest’s have been no exception as they make their way down to Luton looking to avoid a third league defeat on the trot, and indeed, if Nottingham Forest grab the points here, the east midlands outfit  could find themselves back in the play-off pack.

Luton have found wins hard to come by and they may not possess the necessary firepower to collect all three points against a Nottingham Forest side desperate to prove a point here, and the visitors can be backed with the ‘draw no bet option’ or AH0.
