There are some potentially stellar games in the German Bundesliga this weekend. One of the most attractive is at the Signal Iduna Park, as Dortmund and Wolfsburg go head-to-head.
There is very little between these two teams in the German top-flight table, with fourth-place Wolfsburg leading the fifth-place hosts by just a point. However, both teams are within touching distance of leaders Monchengladbach. If weekend results go the Wolves way, they could end up topping the table by the end of gameweek ten.
Dortmund have been a force to be reckoned with on home soil in the Bundesliga of late, picking up 13 wins from their last 16 matches.
BVB have also been hard to stop going forward, as they have only failed to score two or more goals just once in their last 21 Bundesliga games at the Signal Iduna Park.
One factor that has prevented these two teams being higher in the table is that they have drawn too many league games of late. BVB have picked up four draws in their last five league matches. The draws have been highly frustrating for Dortmund, who started the season in such a promising manner.
Wolfsburg have also drawn a number of games in the German top-flight. In fact, the visitors have now drawn in five of their last seven matches in the Bundesliga. The run is part of a ten-match undefeated run in the league.
The Wolves have been involved in a lot of low-scoring games of late in the Bundesliga, with their last seven league matches producing under 2.5 goals. Uncharacteristically, Dortmund’s last two league games have also produced under 2.5 goals.
It seems unlikely that this game will be a low-scoring one considering Dortmund potency on home soil, though.
Forebet predicts that this will be a high-scoring encounter ending in a draw.
