Saturday’s Round-Up

Everton ended a run of four straight defeats by beating West Ham in the early kick-off on Saturday. Bernard gave the Toffees the lead on 17 minutes before substitute Gylfi Sigurdsson wrapped up the points with a spectacular curling effort.

Adam Webster put Brighton ahead at Villa park, but when Aaron Mooy was sent off before half-time, the game swung in Villa’s favour. Jack Grealish brought Villa level and Matt Targett scored deep into added time to give the hosts the victory.

Tottenham’s woeful run continues as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Watford. Abdoulaye Doucoure opened the scoring for the away side, but Dele Alli scored a controversial late goal to rescue a point for Spurs.

Raul Jimenez scored one goal and had two ruled out by VAR as Wolves and Southampton shared the points at Molineux. Danny Ings put the Saints ahead on 53 minutes, but Jimenez converted a penalty minutes later to seal the draw.

Chelsea made it three straight wins in the league as the Blues overcame Newcastle. Chelsea had to wait until a 73rd minute strike from Marcos Alonso to take the lead. The hosts dominated large spells of the game and deserved the victory.

Bournemouth and Norwich played out a goalless draw, while Leicester beat Burnley 2-1. Chris Wood put the visitors in front, but Jamie Vardy and Youri Tielemans turned the game around for the Foxes.

Manchester City returned to winning ways with a stylish win over Crystal Palace. The reigning champions completely dominated at Selhurst Park. Two goals in two minutes from Gabriel Jesus and David Silva wrapped up a comfortable victory for City.

Super Sunday

Liverpool’s winning streak came to an end as Manchester United claimed a well-earned draw at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford put the hosts ahead in the first half, but United couldn’t hold. Adam Lallana came off the bench to clinch a draw for the Reds.

Monday Night Football

Lys Mousset scored the only goal of the game as Sheffield United put in a brilliant performance to beat Arsenal. The Gunners had numerous chances, but the Blades defended bravely to claim a famous victory.
