Tottenham Hotspur to get needed win versus Watford
3062

The wheels are coming off for Tottenham Hotspur under Mauricio Pochettino. The London club has lost two straight matches in all competitions conceding 10 goals in just 180 minutes of football.

Watford are rock bottom in the Premier League and remain the only team not to win a match. The Hornets may have sacked Javi Gracia in favour of Quique Sanchez Flores but the manager has struggled to improve results.

Tottenham Hotspur have won just twice in their last six matches in the Premier League. Consistency has been difficult for Pochettino and his players to find. Spurs have already lost three matches and sit ninth in the table. They are already 13 points off of first place but just three from the top four.

Pochettino’s team has been better at home this term rather than on the road. Tottenham Hotspur have collected nine of their 13 points at home. They have won three times in four matches. Their only loss was against Newcastle United, who shocked Spurs 1-0.

Watford have collected just one point from 12 on the road. It is unlikely they will be able to upset Spurs away.

Pochettino is without star goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for the remainder of the season. The shot-stopper dislocated his elbow stopping a shot against Brighton in gameweek 8. Lloris will be a huge miss in goal as back up Paulo Gazzaniga has been thrust into the starting position.

Gazzaniga has looked shaky in goal when given the opportunity and that is why Tottenham Hotspur re-signed former shot-stopper Michel Vorm this week. Vorm is set to back up Gazzaniga, but could find himself as Spurs’ No. 1 soon.

Pochettino could still be without midfielder Giovani Lo Celso and Ryan Sessegnon. The attacking players are recovering from injury and listed as 50% likely to appear. Sessegnon has not appeared all season due to a hamstring injury. Lo Celso has played sparingly when fit.

Watford could be without key players Etienne Capoue and Sebastian Prodl. If the duo is unable to play, it will leave a large hole in the spine of the team. Isaac Success and Troy Deeney are both ruled out of the fixture.

Tottenham Hotspur have not lost to Watford at home in their last seven matches. Although Watford did defeat Spurs at Vicarage Road last season, they have not been able to win in north London.

Six of the last nine matches between Tottenham Hotspur and Watford in all competitions have seen both teams score. In addition, six of the last nine fixtures saw over 2.5 goals scored.

Saturday’s match will once again see over 2.5 goals as Spurs rebound and win against Watford once more at home.
