Can Barcelona halt in-form Inter?
5027

Barcelona have been extremely underwhelming over the last couple of months and we are yet to see the team playing at its fluent best this season.

Admittedly, the team has missed star men Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez due to injury, but their deep squad is packed full of world-class players that are more than capable of getting the job done.

Defeats in La Liga to Athletic Bilbao and Granada have seen the Catalan club slip to 4th, while only Villarreal and Valencia have conceded more goals than Barcelona in the top half of the table.

Ernesto Valverde's team has looked strangely disjointed in recent weeks, which has led to the manager’s tactics being questioned.

Barcelona were very fortunate to come away from their previous Group F clash with a point after scraping a goalless draw at Borussia Dortmund on Matchday 1.

On the other hand, Inter have got off to a flier this season and currently boast a 100% record in Serie A.

The Italian club has won each of their 6 league games this term while conceding just 2 goals in the process.

Inter were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw by Slavia Prague in the previous round but dominated large spells of the match.

Despite a frustrating opening result, the team’s momentum continues to grow, and an away trip to Barcelona will surely inspire Inter to extend their unbeaten run.

Following an indifferent spell at EPL club Manchester United, Romelu Lukaku looks to have settled in nicely at Inter.

The Belgian striker has bagged 3 goals in 6 league appearances this term, and will be hungry to add to his tally when he lines up against Barcelona.

The returning Luis Suarez got on the scoresheet as Barcelona beat Getafe 2-0 last time out. However, Lionel Messi was not included in the squad. Another injury setback looks set to rule the Argentine ace out of this crucial Group F clash.

This is the second consecutive season that Barcelona and Inter Milan have been drawn in the same group as each other.

Barcelona were undefeated in this fixture last term – winning 2-0 at home and drawing 1-1 at the San Siro.

Despite Barcelona’s poor start to the 2019/20 campaign, Camp Nou is always a difficult place for visiting teams to go, and Inter could find it difficult to continue their impressive run of results on Wednesday.

Forebet predicts a tight match, with both teams scoring and Barcelona coming out on top.
