Real Madrid are amongst the most famous football clubs in the world. Los Blancos have a special affinity with the European Cup, having won the competition a record 13 times in its two guises.
However, the Spanish giants kicked off this season's European campaign with a 3-0 humbling at PSG’s Parc des Princes. The defeat means that Zinedine Zidane are now playing catch-up with the Parisians when it comes to winning the group.
They have a perfect chance to kick-start their European campaign on Tuesday night, as Los Blancos host Club Brugge at the Bernabeu Stadium.
The home side head into this clash on the back of a goalless draw at arch-rivals Atletico Madrid that kept Zidane’s team top of La Liga and unbeaten. The Spanish side will be hoping that their domestic form rubs off on their European form, as they are in major need of a win.
However, the home sides recent form in European football’s elite competition has been poor, as they have lost three of their last four Champions League matches.
Despite the visitor’s good start to the campaign, everybody connected with Real Madrid will be confident of a big win for the home side.
As previously stated, Club Brugge are in fine form heading to the Spanish capital. They are currently unbeaten in their opening eight league matches. They kicked off their European campaign with a goalless home draw against Galatasaray.
The draw against the Turkish side means that the Belgian side is unbeaten in nine games in the Champions League, although five of those games have finished in draws. The visitors are also four matches unbeaten on their travels in Europe’s elite competition.
Forebet predicts that the home side will end Club Brugge’s recent good run of form, to kick-start their European campaign.
