Dortmund to bounce back against Werder Bremen
2471

On Saturday evening, Dortmund host Werder Bremen at Signal Iduna Park, as BVB look to get their title challenge back on track.

Questions have been asked of Dortmund’s mentality of late after BVB conceded a late equaliser last time out in a 2-2 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt. The fixture was not an easy one, but the fact that Lucian Favre’s team came within minutes of winning made the draw harder to take.

The result in Frankfurt leaves BVB third place in the table ahead of gameweek six. Despite a couple of slip-ups already, they are still just three points off the top of the German top-flight table.

In attacking trio Jadon Sancho, Paco Alcacer and Marco Reus they have an awesome offensive ability. Alcacer has scored five times in as many outings in the German top-flight, while his attacking teammates have also registered three league goals each.

Dortmund are formidable at the Signal Iduna in the Bundesliga, as they have won all three home games this season, scoring at least three goals in all the wins. In fact, BVB have won seven of their last eight league matches on home soil.

The home sides attacking prowess is certainly highlighted by the fact that BVB have scored at least twice in their last 19 home matches in the Bundesliga.

Werder Bremen have started their Bundesliga campaign in inconsistent form, winning twice and losing three times in the German top-flight so far this season. Last time out, the visitors suffered a 3-0 home reverse against RB Leipzig. The defeat ended a promising two-game winning run for Werder in the Bundesliga.

Despite their inconsistency, nobody could label Werder as a boring team to watch for the neutrals anyway, as their last six games in the German top-flight have produced over 2.5 goals. There is a good chance that record will continue in this clash.

Forebet predicts that Dortmund will record a victory in a high-scoring clash to bounce back from that late disappointment last time out in Frankfurt.
