It’s been over 12 years since these last two teams met in a league match but QPR will be hoping of a repeat of the result as the hosts won 3-2 on that day back in April 2007 at home against Saturday’s opponents, Luton Town, which ultimately contributed to Luton’s relegation from the Championship that season.
QPR have made a reasonable start to this season’s Championship campaign as The R’s occupy 8th place and are level with Fulham who sit in the last spot in the early play-off placings ahead of this weekend’s action.
The hosts may not have wanted the international break to happen however, as QPR had posted back-to-back wins over Wigan Athletic 3-1 at home and a decent 2-1 win away at Sheffield Wednesday, but Mark Warburton’s boys will be raring to resume hostilities against Luton Town at Loftus Road this Saturday.
QPR have actually picked up more wins on the road to date in these early stages of this Championship season, but the hosts can set the record straight with a win on home turf this weekend, as they go in search of a third league win on the trot.

After three relegations in relatively quick succession, Luton Town found themselves drifting in English football obscurity of the National League, but after several near misses in what was a frustrating period in their club history, The Hatters are seemingly on the rise again as they’re back in the Championship this season.
Following a slow start to the new campaign which saw the visitors gain just 1 point from their first 4 matches and the possible 12 points on offer, Luton have since picked up back-to-back wins against Barnsley 3-1 away from home and a 2-1 win at Kenilworth Road against relegated Huddersfield Town.
These recent wins would have ben most welcome for Hatters boss, Graeme Jones, who had earlier seen his side slump to 3 defeats on the trot with losses to Cardiff City, West Brom and Sheffield Wednesday.
There’s still work to be done, especially at the back in defence as Luton have shipped 10 goals already this season and have failed to keep a clean sheet so far this term, but this may contribute to what looks like being a lively London derby with QPR with both teams looking set to hit the back of the net in this clash.
