It is men against boys on Sunday as Spain host the Faroe Islands in Euro 2020 Group F play. The Spanish head into Sunday night with 15 points from 15 possible.

The Faroe Islands, on the other hand, are propping up the bottom of Group F. The minnows of European football have collected zero points having been outscored 16-3 in five qualifying matches and could have several goals put past them on Sunday night.

New Spain manager Robert Moreno won his first official match in charge of the team. La Roja defeated Romania 2-1 in Bucharest on Thursday night.

While Spain were winning in Romania, the Faroe Islands were losing at home to Sweden. The Group F bottom dwellers fell to defeat 4-0. It was the first time in Euro 2020 Group F qualifying that the Faroe Islands had been held to a clean sheet.

Sunday night’s match between Spain and the Faroe Islands will be their second in Euro 2020 Group F qualification. Their first meeting finished with Spain winning 4-1 away. La Roja had the match wrapped up by the 34-minute mark.

Spain go into the match against the Faroe Islands without midfield Diego Llorente. The Real Sociedad centre-back was sent off with a red card against Romania and will be banned from facing the Faroe Islands.

Moreno set out Spain in a 4-3-3 formation against Romania and will do so again versus the Faroe Islands. He could rotate his squad with Spain now on 15 points. However, Sweden are on 13 points and breathing down the Spanish team’s neck.

Faroe Islands manager Lars Olsen set out his team in a 4-2-3-1 against Sweden. He will certainly do it again in the hopes that his dual pivots will slow down Spain’s attack.

In their previous meeting, Olsen played a 4-4-1-1 formation. The two banks of four were deployed to stop Spain from cutting through the team. It didn’t work, so Olsen could opt for the 4-2-3-1 instead.

Four of the Faroe Islands five matches have ended with over 2.5 goals scored. Three of five matches saw both teams score.

Spain and the Faroe Islands should have no difficulty combining for over 2.5 goals. It will be the Spanish who score more goals, however. Moreno’s team will continue their great form and push their Group F lead to 18 points from 18 possible.

La Roja could finally pull away from Sweden with a win as the Swedes face Nordic rivals Norway in a derby.
