Huddersfield and Reading to both score in quest for points

Huddersfield and Reading to both score in quest for points

Huddersfield Town slumped to a third defeat on the trot overall during the week when they were handed a 2-1 loss away at Cardiff City, but it was a cruel blow as The Bluebirds left it late until the 88th minute to snatch all three points.

Huddersfield had recently dispensed of the services of former manager, Jan Siewart, who was firstly unable to keep The Terriers up in the Premier League and then failed to win any of his first four matches in charge of the Yorkshire outfit in this season’s Championship campaign.

The early signs certainly don’t look too promising for Huddersfield who have already suffered defeats to Derby County, Fulham and Cardiff City in the Championship, as well as being on the end of an early exit in the League Cup after they lost 1-0 at home to Lincoln City.

The win market where Huddersfield are concerned would be foolish at best, but there is an angle as the goal markets look a better prospect with all 4 of Huddersfield Town’s Championship matches resulting in both teams scoring.

Following early back-to-back defeats at the start of the season, Reading have since bounced back and rekindled the sort of form that they were showing under manager, Jose Gomes, in the second half of last season’s campaign.

A heavy 3-1 loss at home to Sheffield Wednesday on the opening day of the season at their Madejski Stadium was followed by a 2-1 loss away at Hull City, but The Royals have shown their resilience under Gomes by recording a win in the League Cup against Wycombe Wanderers, albeit on penalties.

In addition, the visitors registered a convincing 3-0 home win against Cardiff City last weekend and were well worth their win. In midweek, Reading travelled to the west midlands to take on West Brom at The Hawthorns and walked away with a point in a 1-1 draw which is a solid result.

Reading will take heart from these recent results and will be in confident mood as they look to extend Huddersfield’s woes and grab the points here.

However, with just 1 away win out of their last 21 matches on their travels, it may be best to steer away from the win markets where Reading are concerned too, but instead, 13 of Reading’s last 21 away matches have resulted in both teams scoring.

Both teams will fancy their chances of all three points in this clash so both look likely to score in this clash.
