That was Atlético Mineiro’s third win in their last four games in all competitions. They have defeated Chapecoense away from home in Serie A and Cruzeiro at home in the Copa do Brasil. Atlético Mineiro were also held to a 2-2 draw at home by Fortaleza in Serie A and trends show they have won just two of their last six league matches.
They have been exciting to watch away from home in the league and Atlético Mineiro have seen over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last seven on the road. Both teams have scored in seven of their last nine away league games so Atlético Mineiro can score goals but keeping clean sheets has been problematic.
Team news and Goiás are without the injured David Duarte who has an ACL injury and will not return until next season. He is the only guaranteed absentee for the hosts.
Atlético Mineiro travel without the injured duo of Gustavo Blanco and Uilson. Both have serious knee injuries and are expected to be out of action for some time.
It will be interesting to see how Atlético Mineiro cope having played some many games recently. Goiás have been in good form at home and could come away with all 3 points in a match which has the potential for over 2.5 goals.
