The New England Revolution will host Vancouver Whitecaps in Major League Soccer midweek play on Thursday.

The Revolution are unbeaten in their last six matches collecting 12 points from 18 possible. New England are two points back of the MLS Eastern Conference playoffs and could move back into the top seven with a win at home against Vancouver Whitecaps.

The Whitecaps head into the fixture as MLS’s second worst team in terms of points collected. The Canadians have tallied just 20 points 63 possible. Despite their awful form, the Whitecaps are still just nine points back of the Western Conference playoffs.

Vancouver have lost three straight matches in MLS play. The Whitecaps have been outscored in their last three league games 10-1. Vancouver have scored the Western Conference’s fewest goals with 22 and the third most goals conceded at 34.

New England haven’t been great in front of goal this term, scoring 24 times, but they have managed to get timely goals to collect points over their last six games. All six of those fixtures saw both teams score and over 1.5 goals tallied.

Four of Vancouver’s last six matches saw both teams score. Their biggest issue has been keeping other teams out of goal. In addition, four of the Whitecaps last six matches finished with over 2.5 goals scored.

The last six matches between New England Revolution and Vancouver Whitecaps have seen two wins for both teams and two draws.

Four of the six games between New England Revolution and Vancouver Whitecaps finished with over 2.5 goals scored. Their most recent game, played last season, saw the fixture end 3-3.

New England Revolution are the current leaders in MLS in most red cards. The Boston-based team has picked up five red cards this term. Could they be handed a sixth against Vancouver Whitecaps in midweek?

Revolution attacking midfielder Carles Gill leads the team in goals with five. He has added five assists to the tally. Gill scored in his last match against DC United helping New England earn a 2-2 draw. The Revolution will have new striker Gustavo Bou available for the fixture.

The Whitecaps Fredy Montero has scored six times in 19 appearances. Montero is coming off of a suspension following a straight red card against Los Angeles Galaxy at the beginning of July. Yordy Reyna has added four strikes for the woeful Whitecaps.

Vancouver’s form has been awful in recent weeks. They are unbeaten in six games while New England Revolution have strung together a nice undefeated streak.

The Revolution will pick up another victory on Thursday at home as over 2.5 goals go into the back of the nets. New England could return to the top seven and a playoff place.
