Seoul set to end poor run against struggling Incheon

Seoul set to end poor run against struggling Incheon
2217

On Saturday morning (GMT), title challenging Seoul visit struggling Incheon United in the South Korean K-League.

The two teams have experienced contrasting fortunes this season. While Seoul are flying high in third-place. Meanwhile, Incheon are enduring a nightmare campaign and are bottom of the K-League.

Seoul are five points behind league leaders Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and four points behind second-place Ulsan. Incheon have picked up just 11 points from their opening 20 games, having won just two league matches this season.

Ironically, despite Incheon’s struggles this season, they are unbeaten in their last six K-League meetings with Seoul.

Seoul’s title challenge has gone slightly off course in recent games, as the team from the capital have failed to win in their last three league matches, including losing 4-2 at Jeju United.

The visitors recent league matches have certainly been highly entertaining, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last seven K-League. A big contributing factor in those high-scoring games is the fact that Seoul have scored at least twice in all seven of those aforementioned league matches.

Unsurprisingly considering their league position, Incheon have failed to win in six K-League matches, suffering four defeats in the process. Unlike the visitors, the home sides recent league matches have been low-scoring with under 2.5 goals scored in four of the last six league games.

Incheon have been poor on home soil in recent matches in the K-League, failing to win in eight matches, while suffering seven defeats. Poor defensive displays have characterised Incheon’s recent home games, as they conceded at least 2.5 goals in five of those eight winless matches on home soil.

Seoul have struggled for consistency on their travels of late in the K-League. However, this clash gives the visitors a major opportunity to improve their poor record on their travels.

Forebet predicts that Seoul will do just that by recording a victory in a high-scoring encounter.
