Jeju and Seongnam tough to separate

The South Korean top-flight table is taking shape at the midway point of the campaign. Two teams who have not been great in the K-League so far this season, Jeju and Seongnam meet on Friday morning in Seogwipo.

Both teams are in the relegation group in the K-League after 16 matches of the league season. However, the visitors look more likely to make the top-six as they just are six points outside the championship group.

The home side are 11 points from moving out of the relegation group, having accrued a measly ten points from their 16 league outings this season. They have struggled for victories during the current campaign, winning just twice in the league.

A poor home record has hindered their chances of moving up the table, as Jeju have won just once on home soil in the K-League, suffering seven defeats in the process.

Another major issue for the home side has been their poor defensive record, as they have the second worse defensive record in the South Korean top-flight.

Seongnam head into this clash on the back of an eight-game unbeaten run in the K-League. They have drawn their last two league games against Incheon United and Gyeongnam, which has not helped their chances of moving into the championship group.

One big factor for the visitors in the league of late has been a lack of goals. Only bottom club Incheon have scored fewer goals than the visitors in K-League this season. However, only the top-four teams have better defensive records in the league.

The visitors recent away record in the top-flight has been poor over their last two stints in the K-League, as they have won just once in 15 outings on their travels.
