Beijing looking to extend lead at the top of the Super League
2207

On Saturday morning, Chinese Super League leaders Beijing Guoan host Guangzhou at the Workers' Stadium, as the home side look to extend their lead at the top of the standings.

The home side have started their Chinese Super League campaign in strong form, winning 12 of their 13 matches so far. Beijing’s good form has taken them to the top of the Super League table, five points clear of second place Guangzhou Evergrande.

The home side has been highly prolific of late in the Super League, scoring at least twice in four of their last five outings.

The big foreign imports have had a big influence on Beijing’s good form of late, as Cedric Bakambu, Renato Augusto and Jonathan Viera have all enjoyed good seasons for the home side in front of goal.

Another key to Beijing’s lofty position in the table has been that they are so strong on home soil, winning their last seven matches at home, while also scoring at least twice in all seven victories. Their attacking prowess has led to over 2.5 goals scored in their last seven league outings.

Guangzhou R&F have endured an inconsistent campaign in the Chinese Super League. The visitors are currently ninth place in the standings, having failed to win in three league games.

The odds look stacked against the visitors recording a victory in this clash. However, in Israeli striker Eran Zahavi they have a striker in top form. The former Palermo star has scored 14 times in just 13 league appearances.

The visitors recent away form in the Chinese top-flight has been poor, to say the least, as they have won just twice in 18 away games.

Their poor record away record looks unlikely to improve in this clash, with Forebet predicting that the home side will record a victory in a high scoring encounter.
