The Norwegian Eliteserien resumes following a break and on Saturday 15th June we have one match to enjoy between Haugesund and Brann.

The game will take place at the Haugesund Stadion and provides a good opportunity for both teams to push towards the top three.

Haugesund start the weekend in 7th place with 15 points. A win could see them move above Brann and as high as third. Brann currently occupy 5th place with 17 points and they could also move into third with a win.

The hosts last played a competitive match on the 26th May and defeated Mjondalen away from home 4-1, which was a very good result. Haugesund are undefeated in their last five competitive games, four of which have come in the league.

They have beat Rosenborg and Mjondalen away and been held by Bodo Glimt and Kristiansund at home. Therefore, Haugesund have been picking up more points away than at home in recent weeks.

However, trends show Haugesund are not easy to beat on home soil and they are undefeated in eight of their last nine home Eliteserien matches. Unfortunately, they have won only one of the last five, which was back in April against Stabaek.

Trends show Haugesund have won four of their last eight league games by 2 goals or more.

Brann last played on the 22nd of May and they tasted defeat in a 1-0 loss at home to Rosenborg. This was a disappointing way to enter the break for Brann, who were hopeful of winning that match and keeping the pressure on the leaders.

However, Brann have won four of their last five competitive games, with three coming in the league and one in the cup. The three league wins came against Stabaek and Bodo Glimt away plus Sarpsborg at home.

Trends show Brann have won each of their last three away Eliteserien matches. The wins have come at Tromso, Stabaek and Bodo Glimt.  They have scored at least one goal in each of their last nine away league games and 2 or more goals in five of those nine matches.

Looking ahead to the team news and Haugesund are definitely without the injured duo of Dennis Horneland and Ben Karamoko who have long term knee injuries. Anthony Ikedi is back in training following a knee problem but Ibrahima Koné is away on international duty.

Brann could be without Ruben Kristiansen and Fredrik Haugen. The former will be hoping to return to the squad following a groin injury but Haugen is unlikely to play any part in the match.

Brann have been excellent away from home in recent games while Haugesund have been struggling to win games on home soil. This game could end in an away win with the possibility of a clean sheet for Brann.
