Mallorca and Granada to finish all-square
3023

The race for promotion to La Liga from Segunda hots up on Tuesday night, as Mallorca host Granada at the Iberostar Estadi.

The home side are currently in the play-off positions but are unable to claim automatic promotion to the Spanish top-flight. However, the Islanders still need to record a victory to secure their spot in the play-off positions.

A 1-0 defeat at Deportivo La Coruna last time out in the Segunda means that the home side has now lost two of their last three league matches. Those defeats have cost Mallorca the chance of going up automatically this season.

Apart from those recent defeats, Vicente Moreno’s side has been in decent league form of late, winning four of their last six league games. Their recent Segunda matches have been low-scoring affairs though, with six of their previous eight league games producing under 2.5 goals.

Mallorca have been strong on home soil of late in the Segunda, as they are unbeaten in 11 matches, having recorded ten wins in the process. Impressively, the Islanders have also kept clean sheets in nine of those undefeated home matches.

Granada head to Mallorca second place in the Segunda, knowing that a win in this clash would ensure automatic promotion to La Liga.

With just two games to go, a draw would not be a disastrous result either, as they are currently four points clear of third-place Albacete.

A 1-1 draw with Cadiz last time out in the Segunda, means the visitors are unbeaten in six league outings, having recorded four wins. Like the home side, their recent league games have been low-scoring of late, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five outings.

Forebet predicts that Mallorca will hold Granada to a low-scoring draw, putting the visitor’s promotion party on hold for now.
