Juventus to hamper Inter’s Champions League bid
2688
On Saturday night, Inter face Juventus at the Giuseppe Meazza, in a crucial clash for the home sides chances of sealing a Champions League spot this season.
Inter are currently third-place in Serie A, five points clear of rival’s AC Milan and Atalanta in fourth and fifth place respectively. A defeat in this game and wins for their rivals could blow the race for the Champions League spots right open.
The Nerazzurri head into this big clash on the back of a four-game unbeaten run in Serie A. However, the problem for the home side is that they have drawn two of those unbeaten games, including last time out when they drew 1-1 with Roma on home soil.
Inter really have been unconvincing on home soil of late in Serie A, claiming just two victories from their last seven Serie A outings at the Giuseppe Meazza. The Nerazzurri’s recent home games have been low-scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in eight of their last nine matches.
Juventus secured their eighth straight Scudetto last time out by beating Fiorentina 2-1 at the Allianz Stadium.
The victory means that the Bianconeri have now won four of their last five matches in the Italian top-flight. The reigning champions have also scored at least two goals in three of their last four league outings.
Massimiliano Allegri’s team have actually lost two of their last three away games in Serie A. However, a record of five wins from their last seven league matches on their travels is still a pretty strong one.
Juventus have not always been prolific on their travels of late. However, the Bianconeri have failed to score in just one of their last 16 matches on their travels in Serie A.
Forebet predicts that Juventus will record a victory in a low-scoring game to put the Nerazzurri under pressure in the race for the Champions League spots.
