Huddersfield Hope to End Season on a High

Huddersfield Hope to End Season on a High
2896

Ahead of this weekend’s fixtures in the Premier League, we know two teams have been relegated.

One of those teams is Huddersfield Town and on Saturday they host Leicester City at the John Smith's Stadium.

The Terriers have only three home games left in the Premier League and will be keen to make the most of the time they have left in the top-flight.  Leicester City on the other hand are pushing to finish in 7th place this season and a win here could see them move up from 9th into that position.

Huddersfield Town have struggled badly for much of this campaign and trends show they have won only three of their thirty-two games, which is a very poor record.  They have lost each of their last four matches and won just one of their last twenty in all competitions.

Premier League form shows seventeen defeats in their last nineteen games, winning one and drawing one, picking up just 4 points from the 57 points available.

At home, Huddersfield lost 2-0 to Bournemouth last time out but did defeat Wolverhampton Wanderers, a team currently above Leicester City in the league table.  However, that’s just one win in their last ten at home, with eight of the other games ending in defeat.

The Terriers have scored 2 goals in their last five home Premier League matches and have conceded 2 or more goals in five of the last seven.

Leicester City picked up a good 2-0 win over Bournemouth last weekend and are making a strong run to finish in 7th place this season.  The victory over the Cherries was their fourth in five games and they appear to have turned a corner.

The Foxes have defeated Brighton and Hove Albion, Fulham and Bournemouth at home plus Burnley 2-1 away.  The only loss in their last five matches came at Watford in a 2-1 defeat.

Leicester City’s away form in the Premier League is poor and they have won only one of their last five.  The victory came last time out at Burnley but there have been defeats at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur and Watford.

Trends show Leicester City have scored in each of their last seven away Premier League games but have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five, meaning both teams have scored in those five matches.

Looking ahead to the team news and Huddersfield Town could have up to four players back in contention for this game following injury.  Laurent Depoitre, Demeaco Duhaney, Adama Diakhaby and Isaac Mbenza could all be available.

Leicester City travel without Marc Albrighton who is out for the season and have doubts over Daniel Amartey following a broken foot.  They are to only two players who could be missing for the visitors.

Huddersfield Town will want to give their fans something to cheer about before the end of the season and they may find the back of the net in this game.  However, Leicester City are in good form and should come away with all 3 points.
