West Brom set for a win over the Swans

West Brom set for a win over the Swans
2411

Last week West Brom decided to dispense with the services of club stalwart Darren Moore as boss. The decision shocked many, as the Baggies are fourth in the Championship table.

The team from the Midlands face their first post-Moore game on Wednesday night, as they welcome Swansea to the Hawthorns.

Moore’s sacking comes on the back of a three-game run without a league victory. Last time out, the Baggies drew 1-1 at bottom club Ipswich, the draw at least ended a two-game losing run.

West Bromwich are now nine points outside the play-off spots in the Championship and look unlikely to seal a top-two spot this season.

Poor recent home form has played a big part in the Baggies’ slipping off the pace in the race for automatic promotion this season, as four of their last six home games in the league have finished in draws.

West Brom have been poor defensively on home soil of late in the Championship, keeping just one clean sheet in 13 games.

Swansea City have slipped out of the race for the play-off spots of late. The Swans are now eight points outside the top-six, after a run of three defeats in their last four league outings.

Last time out in the league, Graham Potter’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat at promotion-chasing Norwich. The visitors recent league matches have been relatively low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last nine Championship matches.

The Welsh sides away form has hindered their chances of making the play-off spots. In fact, the Swans have failed to win in five away games, suffering four straight away defeats in the second tier. Their recent away games have been relatively high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last nine away matches.

Forebet predicts that West Brom will end their three-game winless run by recording a victory in a low scoring encounter.
