Schalke set to hold Werder to a draw

On Friday night, Werder Bremen host struggling Schalke at the Weserstadion, as the home team look to make up some ground on the Bundesliga’s top six.
Werder Bremen are currently tenth in the German top-flight table, six points outside the European spots in the Bundesliga. Werder are unbeaten in seven matches in the German top-flight.
However, a 1-1 draw at Wolfsburg last time out in the league means that the home side has drawn five of their last six games in the Bundesliga. Their recent league outings have been low scoring.
Werder Bremen are now five games unbeaten in the Bundesliga on home soil. However, three of those four leagues games have finished in draws. Although the home side has not been prolific on home soil in the Bundesliga, they have scored in 18 of their last 19 home games in the German top-flight.
Bremen have a good recent record against Schalke in the Bundesliga, winning three of the last four meetings with the visitors.
Schalke 04 are enduring a difficult campaign and sit in 14th place in the Bundesliga table. Domenico Tedesco’s side are just four points clear of the relegation play-off spot in the German top-flight table.
Schalke have failed to win in six Bundesliga games, suffering four defeats in their last six league matches. A big part of the visitor’s problems of late has been conceding too many goals, as they have conceded at least two goals in five of their last six league outings.
The visitors have won just one of their last eight away matches in the Bundesliga, having suffered defeat in their last two away matches at Bayern Munich and Mainz. Their last four Bundesliga matches on their travels have all produced over 2.5 goals.
Forebet predicts that Schalke will hold Werder Bremen to a draw, which will hamper the home side’s chances of making a late run for the European spots.
