On Tuesday evening, out of form Bordeaux host Montpellier in Ligue One, as the visitors attempt to make up ground the teams that occupy the European spots in the French top-flight.

Bordeaux are in terrible league form heading into this clash, as they have won just one of their last six Ligue One games, having suffered four defeats in the process. Last time out the home side suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Nantes.

The defeat against Nantes followed a familiar trend for Bordeaux in Ligue 1 of late, as it was the sixth game in their last seven that had produced under 2.5 goals.

Despite their recent poor league run, Bordeaux are seven games unbeaten on home soil in the French top-flight. Their recent home outings in Ligue One have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last eight matches, including three of their last four home games.

Montpellier have slipped out of the European spots in recent months after a poor run of form in Ligue One. The visitors have now won just one of their last 11 league matches while failing to win in their last five league outings in Ligue One. Last time out, Montpellier suffered a 4-2 home defeat against Reims.

The defeat last time out means that the home side have now conceded at least two goals in three of their last four league matches.

Montpellier’s recent away form has not helped their chances of finishing in the European spots, as they have failed to win in six games on their travels in Ligue 1, drawing four times and suffering two defeats.

Montpellier’s recent away games in the French top-flight have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six away matches.

Forebet predicts that both sides’ poor runs of league form will continue in this clash, with the match finishing in a low scoring draw.
