RB Leipzig to deepen Nurnberg’s relegation worries

RB Leipzig have been in decent form of late in the Bundesliga and on Saturday afternoon Ralf Rangnick’s side head to relegation-threatened Nurnberg.

The two teams have very different objectives this season in the German top-flight. Nurnberg are rock bottom of the Bundesliga, three points from the relegation play-off spot and five to the safety of 15th place.

In contrast, the visitors head into this game fourth place and just one point behind third-place Monchengladbach.

A run of no league wins in their last 17 games has led to Nurnberg’s current position in the table. The fact that the home side has lost eight of their last ten matches in Bundesliga has further worsened their plight.

RB Leipzig are currently unbeaten in five matches in the Bundesliga after recording three wins and two draws in the German top-flight. However, the visitors have suffered from inconsistency in recent months. They will certainly head into this game as favourites, though.

Nurnberg have struggled for wins on home soil in the Bundesliga of late, having failed to win in their last nine home games. Two straight draws on home soil may offer the home side hope of a revival, though. Their recent games on home soil have been low-scoring affairs, with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their eight matches.

Leipzig have been inconsistent on their travels of late in the German top-flight. However, Rangnick’s team has recorded three straight league wins on their travels, while scoring at least three goals in all three victories.

The visitor’s recent attacking displays away from home have contributed to there being over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five league matches on their travels.

Nurnberg are in desperate need of a victory to aid their survival hopes. However, Forebet predicts that RB Leipzig will record a win to aid their chances of sealing a Champions League spot this season.
