On Saturday evening, reigning German champions Bayern Munich visit surprise package Monchengladbach, in one of the biggest games in the Bundesliga in gameweek 24.

The two teams head into this clash in highly contrasting form. Monchengladbach’s early good form has dipped of late, as the Foals have failed to record a victory in three league matches, while also suffering two defeats.

The home side faces Bayern at a bad time, as the reigning champions have won ten of their last 11 matches in the German top-flight. Any other season Niko Kovac’s team would probably have a healthy lead at the top of the table. However, the champions currently trail league leaders Dortmund by three points in the title race.

This game pits a strong home team against an excellent away outfit. Monchengladbach have suffered consecutive home defeats in the German top-flight. However, prior to the losses, the Foals had recorded 12 straight league victories on home soil.

They have also scored at least two goals in 14 of their last 16 home games in the Bundesliga. The two recent defeats will be seen as just a slight blip for the home side.

Meanwhile, Bayern have won five of their last six matches on their travels in the Bundesliga, while also scoring at least twice in eight of their last nine away games in the German top-flight.

The trends point to a high scoring encounter at Stadion im BORUSSIA-PARK. Six of Bayern’s last seven league matches have produced over 2.5 goals, while eight of Monchengladbach’s last ten matches on home soil in the Bundesliga have produced over 2.5 goals.

This match will be a test of Monchengladbach’s Champions League credentials. However, Forebet predicts that Bayern will have too much for the Foals and record a comfortable victory in a high scoring affair.
