There is a full Premier League fixture list this week with four matches taking place on Tuesday night.  One of those games is between Huddersfield Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Huddersfield Town are sitting bottom of the Premier League and while it is still mathematically possible for them to avoid relegation, they have all but gone this season. Wolves on the other hand are pushing to finish in 7th place this season, which would be a great way to end for a newly promoted team.

Huddersfield Town spluttered to another defeat on the weekend as they went down 2-0 to Newcastle United at St James’ Park.  Having had a man sent off, there was no way Huddersfield Town were going to get back into the game and the loss means they have tasted defeat in each of their last five games.

Huddersfield Town have failed to win any of their last fifteen games in all competitions and have picked up just a single draw, which came against Cardiff City in the Premier League.

The Terriers have been in poor form for some time and trends show they have won only two of their last thirty-three matches in all competitions.  They have lost each of their last even home games in a row and have failed to score a goal in thirteen of their last twenty matches at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Wolves picked up a decent point in a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth on the weekend and that result means they are undefeated in their last eight games in all competitions. However, the point saw them drop one place in the table below Watford and they need to win this match to have a chance of regaining 7th place.

Wolves have won five and drawn three of their last eight games and the wins have come over Leicester City, West Ham United and Everton in the Premier League plus Shrewsbury Town and Bristol City in the FA Cup.

Away from home, Wolves have lost just one of their last eight matches and that was at the home of the champions, Manchester City.  In the Premier League, both teams have scored in seven of their last eight away games and Wolves have found the back of the net in ten of their last twelve on the road.

Looking ahead to the team news and Huddersfield Town will be without the suspended Tom Smith, who was sent off at Newcastle.  Isaac Mbenza is injured and Eric Durm, Adama Diakhaby and Daniel Williams are doubtful.

Wolves have very little to worry about in the injury and suspension department.  The only thing they need to guard against is tiredness and they may make a few changes to freshen things up following the Bournemouth game.

Huddersfield Town have shown very little to suggest they can take something from this game.  Wolves have not been great defensively away from home but even if they concede, Wolves should have enough to take maximum points.
