Racing Genk to continue outstanding league form
On Friday night, Jupiler League leaders Racing Genk host Standard Liege, as the leaders look to continue their stellar league campaign.
Racing Genk are nine points clear at the top of the table, having enjoyed a strong league campaign so far. In fact, Genk have won five of their last six outings in the Jupiler League, suffering one defeat in the process.
One of Genk’s biggest strengths of late has been their attacking prowess, as the home side has scored at least two goals in five of their last six league outings. Their performances in front of goal have contributed to their being over 2.5 goals scored in their last four league games.
Despite their lofty position in the table, Genk have an inconsistent recent record on home soil, winning just two of their last six games on home soil in the league. Although their recent home games in the league have not been that high scoring, both teams have scored in six of their last seven matches.
Standard Liege are currently third in the table, 11 points behind the home side. Liege’s recent league form has been good, as they are unbeaten in seven league games, having recorded five wins in the process. The visitor’s recent games in the Jupiler League have been relatively high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last nine outings.
Liege have been highly inconsistent on their travels of late in the Belgian top-flight. However, a record of just two wins in seven away games has been a big factor in the point’s gap between themselves and the home team.
Their recent away games in the league have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven matches on their travels.
Forebet predicts that the league leaders will record a victory in a low scoring encounter to extend their lead at the top of the table.
