Lazio set to cruise past Empoli

On Thursday night, Lazio host Empoli at the Stadio Olimpico, as the team from the capital look to move back into the Serie A European spots.
Lazio’s recent form in the top-flight has been slightly inconsistent of late. In fact, a 1-0 win at Frosinone last time out in Serie A ended a three-game winless run for Simone Inzaghi’s team in the Italian top-flight.
Despite their slight dip in form of late, Lazio can still move into the Champions League spots with a victory in this clash. Even a draw would be enough to move them into the top six.
I Biancocelesti have struggled for home wins of late, winning just one of their last five matches at the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A. However, three of those five matches have finished in draws.
Lazio’s recent league games on home soil have been relatively high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven outings. Both teams have also scored in the home side’s last six league outings at home.
Empoli are desperately in need of points, as the visitors are just one point outside the Serie A relegation zone. A recent winless run of seven games in the league, consisting of two draws and five defeats has not helped their cause. Last time out in Serie A, Empoli picked up a point, as they drew 2-2 against bottom of the table Chievo.
The visitor’s recent matches in the Italian top-flight have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in 13 of their last 14 league matches.
Part of Empoli’s struggles of late has been that their away form has been poor, as they have failed to win 12 away games in Serie A, suffering eight defeats in the process.
Forebet predicts that Lazio will record a comfortable victory to move into Serie A’s Champions League positions.
