Celtic set to continue winning run in the SPL against Hibernian
On Wednesday night, reigning SPL champions Celtic host Hibernian at Parkhead, as Brendan Rodgers’ team looks to continue their recent run in the Scottish top-flight.
The Hoops are currently six points clear at the top of the table after four straight league wins without conceding a goal. Last time out the home side recorded a 2-0 win over St Johnstone. The victory means that Celtic have scored at least two goals in seven of their last eight league matches, including their last four straight wins.
Rodgers team have been formidable on home soil of late in the Premiership, winning their last 12 league games at Parkhead. The Bhoys have been highly effective at both ends of the field, keeping clean sheets in their last five home outings in the league, while scoring at least two goals in their last eight SPL games at Celtic Park.
Hibernian are seventh place in the SPL and five points behind seventh place. The visitor’s recent league form has been poor, as they have won just once in seven matches while losing three of their last four league games. Last time out in the SPL, Hibs suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Aberdeen.
Hibernian FC’s recent SPL games have been relatively low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last nine league matches.
The team from the capital have been in poor form away from home in the Premiership, winning just two of their last eight away matches. Hibs recent league form on their travels have been low scoring with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven away matches.
Hibs have won two of their last three meetings with Celtic in all competitions, but both of those victories have been on home soil.
