Tottenham host Watford on the heels of their exit from the FA Cup. Mauricio Pochettino is enduring an injury crisis as his two biggest stars Harry Kane and Dele Alli are on the sidelines. Despite Tottenham’s injuries, they are still third in the Premier League four points ahead of fourth place Chelsea.

Watford are situated seventh in the table and 11 points off of fifth place. The Hornets are undefeated in their last four games with three of those ending in draws and one in a victory. Their last Premier League fixture ended nil-nil against Burnley. Manager Javi Gracia has seen his side score six goals in its last four games.

Spurs ended a dreadful week with a 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup. The team went out of the Carabao Cup just days earlier at the hands of Chelsea. That loss was heart breaking as Spurs were defeated on penalties.

While Tottenham were knocked out of the FA Cup at the weekend, Watford were victorious. Gracia made 11 changes to his Hornets team for the match and his players rewarded him with a win. Although Watford have struggled at times this term, the team has played well overall.

Pochettino will be without Kane and Alli, but Heung-Min Son may be available. The Korean striker was on international duty at the Asian Cup. However, Korea’s early elimination means he could be available on Wednesday night.

Watford’s only real injury concern will be that of Abdoulaye Doucoure. Gracia will have the rest of his squad available and he will most likely recall his usual Premier League starting XI following Watford’s FA Cup win.

Tottenham have played well against Watford in their last six matches. Spurs have won four of those six matches while Watford were victorious just once. Watford’s only recent win over Spurs came earlier this season in the league. The Hornets picked up a come from behind 2-1 win at Vicarage Road. The two sides met again in late September in the League Cup with Spurs winning on penalties. All six matches saw over 2.0 goals or more.

Games between Tottenham and Watford are exciting for neutrals as goals fly in between the sides. Tottenham have scored at least two goals in five of their last six home matches versus Watford in all competitions. Spurs will get the goals they need at home to continue their winning run. Wednesday’s fixture will feature over 2.5 goals and a Spurs win.
