Fleetwood set to add to Dons woes

On Tuesday night, struggling AFC Wimbledon host Fleetwood Town at the Cherry Red Records Fans' Stadium in League One, as the home side looks for a win to aid their slim survival hopes.

Wimbledon have been cut adrift at the bottom of the table. The 24th place Dons are now seven points from safety and looking set for relegation to League Two.

A 4-1 home defeat against Barnsley in their last league match means that the Dons have now failed to win in four league outings. In fact, Wimbledon have won just three of their last 18 matches in the third tier.

The Dons recent home form has been inconsistent in Ligue One, as they have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five outings on home soil. The fact that Wimbledon have kept just one clean sheet in their last 13 league games on home soil has not helped their cause.

Fleetwood are now 11 points outside the League One play-off spots after four games without a league victory. The visitors have drawn their last three league games, including last time out when they drew 1-1 at North West rivals Rochdale.

Joey Barton’s team have been poor on their travels in League One, failing to win in eight away matches in the third tier, while suffering six defeats in the process. There are signs of improvement on the road, though, as they have drawn their last two away matches.

Fleetwood’s recent away games in the third tier have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last eight games on their travels in Ligue One.

Town also have a poor record against the home side, winning just two of the last 14 encounters between the two teams.

Forebet predicts that Fleetwood will end their winless away run by recording a victory in a low scoring encounter to add to the home side’s recent woes.
