Norwich and Birmingham to cancel each other out

On Friday night, Norwich and Birmingham clash at Carrow Road in a game that could be vital to both sides’ chances of promotion to the Premier League.

Norwich are currently third in the Championship but are only outside the automatic promotion spots by virtue of an inferior goal difference to second place Sheffield United.

Despite their high position in the table, the Canaries have failed to win in their last four Championship outings. However, three of those four winless games have finished in draws, including last time out when the home side drew 1-1 with West Brom.

The Canaries recent league games have been relatively high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last eight Championship matches.

Norwich have won five of their last seven home games in the second tier, but have failed to win in either of their last two matches. Impressively, the Canaries have scored three or more goals in their last five home games in the Championship.

Birmingham are currently eighth place in the Championship table, just four points outside the play-off spots. However, City’s recent form has not been great, as they have failed to win in three league matches, last time out suffering a 2-1 home defeat against Middlesbrough.

The visitor’s recent league games have been relatively low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four Championship matches.

Birmingham have been on a decent run of form away from home in the Championship of late, as they are unbeaten in four matches, having recorded two wins and two draws.

Garry Monk’s side has also scored at least twice in four of their last five matches on their travels in the second tier.

With neither side in form, it is unsurprising that Forebet predicts that this game will finish in a high scoring draw.
