Dortmund set to maintain momentum at Dusseldorf

On Tuesday night, Bundesliga leaders Dortmund visit struggling Fortuna Dusseldorf, as the visitors look to keep up their positive momentum at the top of the Bundesliga.

Fortuna Dusseldorf have endured a difficult league campaign since their promotion to the German top-flight last season. The home team are currently 16th in the table, in the relegation play-off spot and just a point above the relegation zone.

However, Fortuna ended a three-game run without a league win last time out by recording a 2-0 home victory over Freiburg. The victory was a much-needed one, as the home side had previously lost eight of their last ten outings in the German top-flight.

Even Dusseldorf’s recent home record in the German top-flight is poor, as they have won just three of their last 13 games on home soil in the Bundesliga dating back to their last spell in the top-flight in 2013.

However, there are signs of improvement from the home side on home soil, as they have won two of their last three league games at home.

Dortmund have been in superb form this season in the Bundesliga and are currently nine points clear at the top of the German top-flight table.

Lucien Favre’s team are unbeaten in the league this season, while also winning their last six league matches. A key to their success of late has been their attacking threat, as BVB have scored at least two goals in ten of their last 11 matches in the Bundesliga, including their last five. Last time out, Dortmund defeated Werder Bremen 2-0.

The visitors are unbeaten in seven away games in the Bundesliga, having won their last five league games on their travels. They have also been prolific in recent away games, scoring at least two goals in four of their last five away games in the league.

Forebet predicts that Dortmund will continue their winning run in the Bundesliga by recording a victory in a low-scoring match.
