PSG to seal knockout spot in Belgrade

On Tuesday night, Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade) host PSG in Belgrade, as the visitors look to seal qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Red Star were regarded as the weakest team in a tough group at the start of the competition and the Serbian giants are currently bottom of Group C on 4 points. Even finishing third place may be out of their reach.

The home side has lost three of their last four games in the Champions League, while also conceding at least three goals in all three losses. They have also won just one of their last nine matches in the competition in 90 minutes.

However, Red Star are unbeaten in ten games on home soil in 90 minutes in the Champions League. Three of their last four home games in Europe’s elite competition have finished in draws though.

Their recent home games in the competition have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six matches.

PSG will definitely qualify for the knockout stages with a victory. However, a draw could be enough to send the Parisians through depending on what happens at Anfield between Liverpool and Napoli.

Although the visitors are unbeaten in four European games, recording two wins and two draws, PSG have won just two of their last eight games in Europe’s elite competition.

The French giants have also won just two of their last eight away games in the Champions League while suffering three defeats in their last four matches on their travels.

PSG’s recent away games in the Champions League have been high scoring, with nine of their last ten matches producing over 2.5 goals. A contributing factor to those high scoring games is the fact that PSG have failed to keep a clean sheet in four away games in the competition.
