Sevilla have made a bright start to their La Liga campaign and currently sit just one point behind league leaders Barcelona at the top of the Spanish top-flight table. On Saturday afternoon, the Andalucian’s visit underperforming Valencia.

Valencia were last season’s surprise package in La Liga, finishing fourth and claiming a Champions League spot. However, Marcelino’s team have struggled badly to replicate last season’s form and are currently 14th place in the Spanish top-flight table.

Los Ches have collected just 17 points from their 14 league outings so far this season, a disappointing tally for the home side. In their last La Liga game, Marcelino’s team suffered a 2-0 defeat at European champions Real Madrid. The defeat ended a promising two-game winning run in La Liga.

Los Ches’ recent games have not been for the purist's goals wise, as ten of their last 11 matches in the Spanish top-flight have produced under 2.5 goals.

Valencia have at least been difficult to beat at the Mestalla, losing just one of their last nine La Liga games on home soil. However, Los Ches have also drawn too many of their home games of late, drawing six of their last nine La Liga matches at the Mestalla.

Sevilla are enjoying the sort of season the home side enjoyed in the last campaign. Under Pablo Machin, the visitors look set to challenge the established order in La Liga.

The visitors have won seven of their last ten games in the Spanish top-flight, losing just once in the process against champions Barcelona. However, last time out in the Spanish top-flight their momentum was halted slightly by a 1-1 draw at Alaves.

A three-game winless run on their travels in the Spanish top-flight has not helped the visitor’s chances of keeping pace with leaders Barcelona.

However, Forebet predicts that Sevilla will end a recent winless run on their travels by recording a victory in a high scoring clash to stay in touch with leaders Barcelona.
