Blades set to enhance promotion hopes at Brentford
On Tuesday night, Brentford host Sheffield United in the Championship, as the visitors look to enhance their promotion hopes.
Brentford have been inconsistent in the Championship this season and currently sit 15th place in the second tier table with 21 points from 18 matches.
The Bees head into this potentially difficult clash in poor form, as they have lost five of their last six league games. The home side has also recorded just one win from their last 12 outings.
Last time out the Bees suffered a 2-1 home defeat against promotion-chasing Middlesbrough. Brentford also have a mixed recent record on home soil in the second tier of late. However, a record of just one win from five home games in the Championship is a poor one.
The Bees have been relatively prolific of late on home soil in the second tier, though, scoring at least two goals in six of their last nine home games in the Championship.
Sheffield United are right in the promotion mix, fifth place and three points off the automatic promotion spots after a decent start to their Championship campaign.
However, the Blades promotion challenge has rather stalled of late, as the visitors have won just one of their last six league outings.
Last time out in the league, Chris Wilder’s side were held to a 2-2 draw at Yorkshire rivals Rotherham. In fact, it was United’s second consecutive league draw against a local rival after their previous game with City rivals Wednesday ended 0-0.
Like their recent Championship form in general, the visitor’s recent away form has been mixed. However, they have now failed to win in three games on their travels in the second tier, suffering two defeats in the process.
Forebet predicts that the Blades will get their promotion challenge back on track by recording a victory in a low scoring game.
