Valencia set for a crucial win against Young Boys

On Wednesday night, Valencia host Young Boys at the Mestalla in a potentially crucial game in Group H of the Champions League.
Valencia have made a poor start to their campaign, which has been reflected in their in Champions League points tally of two. In fact, Los Ches have failed to win in six Champions league games, suffering four defeats and picking up two draws.
Those two draws have been in their last outings in this competition against Manchester United and last time out against Wednesday night’s opponents.
The home side’s last six games in the competition have been low scoring, all producing under 2.5 goals. A big factor in those low scoring games is that Los Ches have failed to score in five of their last six outings in Europe’s elite competition.
The Spanish side’s recent home record in this competition is also poor, as they have won just two of their seven home games at the Mestalla in the Champions league. Los Ches have also lost three of their last four games in Europe’s elite competition.
Despite good form in their domestic league, Young Boys are bottom of the group, having picked up just one point from their three games so far this season.
The one draw the Swiss side have earned this season was in the reverse fixture, in a 1-1 draw on home soil. The visitors cannot afford another defeat if they have any hope of finishing in third place, which would mean dropping down into the Europa League.
Young Boys have found wins hard to come by in the Champions league of late, as they have won just two of their last 11 outings in the competition. The Swiss side has also lost eight of their ten away games in the Champions League.
