Arsenal started the season in disarray losing to Manchester City and Chelsea, respectively. However, since August the Gunners have gelled under new manager Unai Emery and have slowly sneaked up on the rest of the league.

Arsenal are flying under the radar and may be the best team in the Premier League right now. Emery’s Gunners destroyed Fulham 5-1 in a London Derby prior to the international break. It was a ruthless performance that recalled the club’s days of old. Now, Arsenal look to continue their great run post-break against Leicester at the Emirates.

The Foxes have collected 12 points from a possible 24. Consistency has been difficult to find despite James Maddison filling the void left by Riyad Mahrez’s summer departure. Leicester have allowed 12 goals while scoring 14 of their own. Maddison and Jamie Vardy have combined for six scores this term, nearly half of the side’s total.

While Maddison has received plaudits for his creativity, Kelechi Iheanacho has tallied more assists (three). He assisted Leicester’s goal against Everton before the break. Leicester lost the match 2-1. Leicester defender Wes Morgan will miss Monday night’s game through suspension.

Arsenal have tallied 19 goals, second most in the Premier League. Their six-game win streak has seen them score two or more goals per game. Alexandre Lacazette has found life under Emery. The Frenchman is flying and has tallied four goals in eight matches. Attacking partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored four times as well giving Arsenal a one-two punch they have lacked for years. The Gunners have had 10 different players score goals and they have multiple ways to defeat opponents.

The Gunners go into the match as the bookies’ favourite. Not only has their form been brilliant, but the Gunners have lost just once to Leicester in their last six meetings. That one loss did come a season ago at the King Power Stadium. However, it came at the end of the season as Arsene Wenger’s reign came to a close. Emery’s Arsenal are a completely different unit with a separate philosophy.

Last season’s meetings between the clubs saw over 3.5 goals scored in both games. In four of their six meetings, over three goals were scored. Arsenal have won all three of their most recent home matches against Leicester.

Goals should be scored at the Emirates on Monday night. Leicester have scored two or more goals in their last three away league matches. Meanwhile, Arsenal have scored two or more goals in their last seven league games. The Gunners will not only score, but they will continue their fantastic winning streak against Leicester.
