Wolves Look to Continue Fine Form at Palace

Wolves Look to Continue Fine Form at Palace

The Premier League action continues this weekend and on Saturday afternoon Wolverhampton Wanderers make the trip to London to play Crystal Palace.

Wolves have made a tremendous start to life in the Premier League following promotion from the Championship last season.  Many onlookers thought they would be the strongest of the promoted teams and that’s how it has turned out.

Crystal Palace were also predicted by many to have a good season but the Eagles must win this game if they are to have any chance of moving into the top half of the table.

Trends show Crystal Palace have won just one of their last six Premier League games and their form has dipped following a decent start to the season. Roy Hodgson’s team started with a 2-0 win at Fulham on the opening day of the season but their only win since has been a 1-0 victory at Huddersfield Town.

Perhaps most alarming for Crystal Palace fans has been their home form and they are yet to win at Selhurst Park this season in the Premier League.  There have been 2-0 defeats against Liverpool and Southampton plus a 0-0 draw with Newcastle United.

Crystal Palace have seen under 2.5 goals in six of their last eight Premier League games and have kept a clean sheet in four of their six matches in all competitions.

Wolves will be delighted with the way they have started the season. The Premier League newcomers sit 9th in the table following their 2-0 win over Southampton last weekend.

Trends show Wolves have become a very difficult team to beat and they have remained undefeated in their last seven games in all competitions.  They were eliminated from the League Cup by Leicester City on penalties but the match finished 0-0 at full-time.

Having lost their opening away match of the season at Leicester City, Wolves have won 1-0 at West Ham United and picked up a great point at Old Trafford in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United.  Trends show Wolves have been good at the back this season and they have kept a clean sheet in five of their last six games in all competitions.

Team news and Crystal Palace will be without the injured trio of Christian Benteke, Connor Wickham, and Scott Dann.  They also have a doubt over defender Jairo Riedewald.

Wolves have a doubt over forward Helder Costa but he is their only injury concern ahead of this game.

Crystal Palace have been struggling at home this season and Wolves appear to be the perfect team to take advantage of their troubles. Good at the back, Wolves could come away from this match with a narrow win to nil.
