Swansea set to add to Stoke’s problems

On Tuesday night, two of the teams relegated from the Premier League last season meet in the Championship, as Stoke host Swansea at the Britannia Stadium.

Stoke ended last season in terrible form, which led to relegation from the top-flight. The Potters have not started life in the second tier in great style either, as the team Staffordshire has won just one of their first seven league games of the campaign.

Last time out in the Championship Gary Rowett’s side drew 2-2 away at Sheffield Wednesday. The draw leaves the Potters just a point above the relegation zone.

The Potters main obstacle to success this season has been poor defensive displays, as the home side has conceded at least two goals in five of their last seven outings in the second tier.

Rowett’s side has an inconsistent home record in the Championship since relegation, winning once, drawing once and suffering one defeat. Two of the Potters three home games this season have produced under 2.5 goals.

Swansea have made a brighter start to life back in the Championship and are currently sitting in the play-off spots.

The Welsh side has won three, drawn three and suffered one league defeat in the second tier this season. Last time out in the league, the Swans drew 0-0 at Nottingham Forest.

The visitor’s recent Championship games have been relatively low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last six outings in the second tier.

Graham Potter’s side are unbeaten in their three away games this season in the second tier, having recorded two wins and a draw. The Swans have also scored at least two goals in two of their three games on their travels in the second tier.

Forebet predicts that Swansea will continue their solid start to the Championship campaign by recording a victory in a high scoring clash.
