Latvia to defeat Andorra in Nations League
On Thursday night, two of the minnows of the international game Latvia and Andorra meet in the UEFA Nations League. The pair have been grouped in Group 1 of League D.
Latvia heads into this clash on the back of just two wins from their last 19 international outings. To make matters worse for the home side they have lost five of their last eight games. Last time out, they suffered a disappointing 3-1 home defeat against Azerbaijan.
Their recent international games have been relatively tight, which has led to under 2.5 goals being scored in five of their last six games. The Azerbaijan game brought an end to those low scoring matches, though.
Even Latvia’s recent home form has been poor, as the home side has lost six of their last eight home international games. A key factor in those home defeats has been poor defensive displays, as they have conceded at least two goals in all six of those recent defeats on home soil.
Andorra’s recent international record is also poor, as they head to Latvia on the back of just one win in their last eight outings. However, a positive for the visitors is that they are unbeaten in three international games in 90 minutes.
The visitor’s recent international games have been low scoring of late with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five outings. Cleans in those aforementioned three unbeaten games have contributed to those low scoring games.
Andorra have only ever won two of their 79 away games in international football. However, one of those victories came last time in a 1-0 victory over Liechtenstein. The win ended a run of three straight defeats on their travels.
