Bahia set to beat Sport Recife

On Thursday night, Bahia host Sport Recife in the Brazilian Serie A, as the home side look to get back to winning ways in the top-flight.

Bahia are currently 14th in the Brasilian Serie A table, a point outside the Copa Sudamericana spots. The Salvador-based outfit’s form has been poor of late, as they have suffered defeat in three of their last four league games. Last time out, they suffered a 2-0 loss against Atletico PR.

The home side’s recent games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last seven games in Serie A.

Bahia’s recent home form in the Brazilian top-flight has been inconsistent. However, they have won three of their last five home games, suffering just one defeat in the process.

The home side has been relatively hard to beat on home soil in Brasilian Serie A of late too, as they have lost just three of their last 19 games on their own patch.

Sport Recife are currently in the relegation zone in Serie A but could move above their opponents in the table with a victory, as they are only two points behind the home side in the table.

The visitors ended an 11-game winless run last time out with a 1-0 win over Parana. Despite that victory, Sport Recife have still lost eight of their last ten games in the Brazilian Serie A.

Their recent league games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last six top-flight outings, including their last three.

The visitors have been woeful of late in Brasilian Serie A on their travels, failing to win in seven matches, while also losing their last six away games. Eduardo Baptista’s side has also failed to score in four of their last five away games in the Brazilian top-flight.

Neither of these two teams are in great form. However, largely due to their relatively strong home record, Forebet predicts that Bahia will record a victory in a low scoring encounter.
