Lyon set to add to Nice woes in Ligue One

On Friday night, Lyon hosts Nice in Ligue One at the Groupama Stadium, as the visitors look for their first league win under new boss Patrick Vieira.

Lyon have started their Ligue 1 campaign with two wins and a defeat so far this season. OL’s recent record means that they have now won ten of their last 12 matches in the French top-flight.

Last time out the home side recorded a relatively comfortable 2-0 home win over Strasbourg. The victory means that Bruno Genesio’s team have won eight consecutive home games in Ligue One, while also keeping clean sheets in seven of those aforementioned eight games on their patch.

Another big factor in Lyon’s stellar home form in the French top-flight is their attacking prowess, as Genesio’s side have scored two or more times in their last seven home games in Ligue 1.

Lyon also have a decent recent record against Nice, as they have lost just five of the last 32 league meetings with the visitors.

Nice have made a poor start to their Ligue 1 campaign under new head coach Patrick Vieira, picking up just one point from a possible nine in the French top-flight. In fact, the visitors have won just two of their last ten league games. Included in that run was a 3-2 defeat in this fixture on the final day of last season.

The visitors form on their travels in the French top-flight has been poor, as they have won just two of their last 12 away matches in Ligue One. The visitors have also failed to win any of their last five games on the road in the French top-flight. Both teams have scored in their previous five games on the road in Ligue 1 though.

Forebet predicts that Lyon will record a victory in a low scoring game to add to Nice’s woes this season.
