On Sunday evening, Dortmund host RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, in one of biggest games of the opening round of the German top-flight.

Dortmund head into the campaign with yet another new head coach in the shape of the experienced Swiss boss Lucien Favre. BVB finished in the Champions League spots last season, despite winning just one of their last five league games, while also losing three times in the process.

The home side’s recent Bundesliga games have been high scoring with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven league matches.

Dortmund have a relatively strong home record in the Bundesliga, winning four of their last five outings at the Signal Iduna Park. A 2-1 defeat against Mainz in their last league game on home soil ended a four-game winning run for BVB.

The home side’s recent home games in the Bundesliga have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five matches. BVB have only failed to score once in their last 18 home games in the Bundesliga.

Just like the home side, RB Leipzig will have a new man in the dugout this season, as former director of football Ralf Rangnick has moved to the position of head coach.

The visitors are unbeaten in eight games in all competitions. The visitors also finished last season with consecutive league victories. Leipzig have been prolific in that aforementioned unbeaten run, scoring at least two goals in five of those eight games.

Leipzig have been poor on their travels of late in the Bundesliga, winning just three of their last 12 games. The visitors have struggled to keep opposing teams out on their travels, as they have conceded at least two goals in nine of their last 13 away matches in the German top-flight.

Forebet predicts an entertaining clash finishing in a win for the home side in a high scoring encounter.
