Dynamo Kyiv and Slavia Prague go into Tuesday night’s Champions League third round qualifying second leg match level at one goal apiece. The winner of the fixture will move onto the Champions League playoff round.

A win will put one lucky club just two matches away from the lucrative Champions league group stage.

Alyaksandr Khatskevich’s Dynamo side go into the second leg having won the Ukrainian Super Cup and three opening fixtures of the Premier League season. Made up mostly of Ukrainian players, Dynamo continue to be one of the top teams in the domestic league along with Shakhtar Donetsk. Midfielder Benjamin Verbic leads the club in goals with two. Meanwhile, striker Nazariy Rusyn is a constant threat up top and will lead the line against Slavia on Tuesday night.

Dynamo are yet to allow a goal in the Ukrainian league. Despite being stout at the back, Dynamo have scored just three goals in domestic competition. In all, Khatskevich’s team have played five games in all competitions and scored five goals while conceding one. Defence is Khatskevich’s backbone and it should see Dynamo hold Slavia in the second leg. However, Slavia are the only team to score a goal against Dynamo this term.

Slavia have started their domestic league undefeated. The club has taken 12 points from 12 while posting a +10-goal difference. Manager Jindrich Trpisovsky, like Tuesday night’s counterpart Khatskevich, has built a team with a solid backbone. Slavia have allowed just one goal in the domestic league this season. Slavia’s 11 league goals lead the competition and has set them up for a possible title this season.

Dynamo go into the fixture with the advantage. Khatskevich’s men scored a vital away goal in the first leg. The side can see out a nil-nil draw to reach the Champions league playoffs. Due to Dynamo’s advantage, Slavia will need to go out and attack on Tuesday night. Slavia do not have the luxury of sitting back and letting Dynamo attack them.

Due to Slavia’s need for an away goal, they will be left open at the back. This will allow Dynamo to pick apart the Czech club. Dynamo will be able to find the back of the net and end Slavia’s hopes of making the Champions league playoffs. The fixture will be close and both sides should find the back of the net, but Dynamo will be able to find a second goal to send them through.
