Cork set to move to the top of the table with a win over Bray

Cork City has the chance to move to the top of the Irish Premier Division when they travel to struggling Bray Wanderers on Friday night.

Bray Wanderers are rock bottom of the Irish top-flight, 11 points from safety and six points away from the relegation play-off spot.

The home side has won just two of their last 11 league games while suffering defeats in six of their last nine games in the Irish Premier Division. Last time out Bray suffered a 6-0 hammering at the hands of Bohemians.

The Wanderers recent league games have been good entertainment value though, with over 2.5 goals scored in 11 of their last 13 games in the Premier League.

Despite their struggles this season, Bray are four games unbeaten on home soil in the league, having recorded two wins and two draws. Martin Russell’s side has also scored at least twice in four of their last six outings on home soil.

Cork are currently one point behind leaders Dundalk in the table, having played an extra game. A win would move the visitors to the top of the Itish Premier League table.

The visitors have won eight of their last ten league games, including hammering Derry City 5-0 last time out in the Irish top-flight. A key to Cork’s recent good form has been a solid defensive record, as they have kept clean sheets in four of their previous five league games.

John Caulfield’s side has endured mixed results on their travels in the league of late, but they have still managed four clean sheets in their last five away games in the Irish Premier Division. A run of four consecutive clean sheets on their travels came to an end last time out, as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at title rivals Dundalk.

Forebet predicts that Cork will record a victory in a low scoring game to move top of the table, temporarily at least.
