Hobro set to kick-off league campaign with a victory
On Friday evening, Vejle host Hobro as the two teams play their first game of the new Danish Superliga season.
Vejle will make a return to the Denmark Superliga after nine years in the second tier of Danish football. A factor in the home side’s relegation in their last spell in the Superliga was the fact that they recorded just one win in their last 11 games.
Their final games in the Danish top-flight were high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last eight games. Unfortunately for the home side, though, they had conceded at least two goals in five of those eight outings above.
Vejle’s home form also failed to aid their fight for survival, as they won just two of their last 13 league games in the Danish top-flight. They will need to improve on that record this season if they are to survive the drop.
Last season Hobro achieved a respectable eighth-place finish in the Danish top-flight. A stellar run of form towards the end of the season consisting of five wins in their last seven games helped them achieve their relatively high position in the table.
The visitor’s games towards the end of the season were low scoring, as five of their seven matches produced under 2.5 goals.
One of the facets of their game that needs to improve this season is their away form in the Superliga. The visitors enjoyed an inconsistent run of form towards the end of the season on their travels, winning three of their last nine away games in the Danish top-flight.
