Waterford to strengthen European hopes
On Friday night, Waterford United will host St Patricks at the Waterford Regional Sports Centre, as both sides attempt to return to form in the Irish Premier Division.
Waterford currently occupy third-place in the Irish top-flight and the last European spot.
However, if it were not for some poor form of late, the home side could be challenging for the title. Due to a run of one win in their last six league outings, the home side are now 14 behind league leaders Cork City.

Like the hosts, St Patricks recent league form has been poor, as the boys from the Irish capital have now lost their last three games while conceding at least three goals in all three defeats.
The visitor’s recent league games have offered good entertainment value, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last four outings.
Athletic have a woeful recent away record, as they have lost six of their last eight league games on their travels, winning just once in the process. Liam Buckley’s side has also conceded at least two goals in three of their last four games on their travels in the Irish top-flight.
