Helsingborg to maintain promotion push at Gefle
On Tuesday night, Gefle host Helsingborg at Gavlevallen, as the visitors look to maintain their promotion hopes in the Swedish Superettan.
The home side has endured a poor campaign in the Swedish second tier and currently occupy one of the relegation play-off spots after a terrible run of form in the league.
The home side has failed to win any of their last six league games while suffering defeat in four of their last five outings in the Superettan. Last time out they were hammered 5-1 on home soil by Landskrona.
Their recent league games have been high scoring. Unfortunately, for Johan Mjallby’s side, that tally is largely down to them conceding at least two goals in four of their last five league games.
Gefle’s recent home form has been a major concern, as they have now suffered four straight league defeats, which has left the home side perilously close to the relegation zone.
The fact that they have conceded two or more goals in their last three games on home soil has not helped either.
Helsingborg are currently fourth-place in the table. However, a victory in this clash would move the visitors into the second automatic promotion spot.
After a slightly unconvincing start to the campaign, the visitors have now hit a spot of form, winning four of their last five games and maintaining an unbeaten run of six games in the Swedish second tier.
Helsingborg have been pretty strong on their travels in the Superettan of late, as they are unbeaten in their last six games, recording three victories and three draws. In fact, the visitors have lost just one of their last nine away games in the second tier.
Helsingborg head into this clash as very much the form team, while Gefle have been poor of late. Forebet predicts that the visitors will record a victory in a high scoring encounter.
