The Major League Soccer action continues on Sunday night as Atlanta United welcome Philadelphia Union to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The home team come into this match sitting top of the Eastern Conference but have not had things all their own way in recent matches.  Atlanta United remain a point clear of second place Columbus Crew with a game in hand.

Philadelphia Union start the weekend in 7th place with 18 points from their thirteen games played.  A win in this game could potentially lift them as high as 5th place and into the playoff places.

Atlanta United started the season very well but have come unstuck in recent weeks. Trends show they have won only one of their last four MLS games and that was away to Orlando City on the 13th May.  Since then they have lost at home to New York Red Bulls and were held to a 1-1 draw at New England Revolution.

However, this blip in recent form should not detract from that has been a good start to the season for Atlanta United and they have won eight of their last eleven league games.  They rarely lose matches and have lost just five of their last thirty in MLS.

At home, Atlanta United have lost their last two MLS games and will be aiming to get back to winning ways.  In addition to the defeat by New York Red Bulls, Atlanta United lost 2-0 to Sporting Kansas City.

Philadelphia Union make the trip to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on a four match unbeaten run in MLS and have won three of those four games. There have been wins over Real Salt Lake and Chicago Fire at home plus an away victory at Montreal impact.

Having struggled to pick up wins at the beginning of the season, Philadelphia Union appeared to have turned a corner but this match is going to be a real test of where they are right now.

Philadelphia Union are unbeaten in their last two away MLS games, winning one and drawing one but scoring goals has been a problem.  They have found the back of the net in only one of their last six away MLS games.  However, they have kept a clean sheet in each of the last two and have conceded 1 goal in their last three on the road.

Escobar are doubtful while Alec Kann joins Garza on the treatment table.

Philadelphia Union have doubts over the fitness of Richie Marquez and Joshua Yaro.  Every other player is fit and available for selection.

Atlanta United have struggled in recent games but will see this as the perfect match to win in-front of their own fans.  Philadelphia Union have improved recently but this could prove to be one match too far and Atlanta United could win to nil.
